![]() True, and I think that this was probably one of the big reasons as to why they've come up with this timeline. Luther did have his own transport until 970, when it was taken off of him, and Angels of Caliban does show that he travels around without the knowledge or permission of the Lion, but that's weak as hell. The only thing I can think of that could make sense is maybe if Calibanite years are slightly longer than Terran years (enough to turn 100 Terran into 70 Calibanite), or if Luther was separate from the Lion but not actually exiled to Caliban for 60 years, or both. There's even a point in Descent of Angels about how the White Scars are under Jaghatai, who wasn't found until 878. The dates that Luther went back to Caliban had been very consistent: either 941 (70 years before Angels of Caliban in 011.M31), 945 (the 147th year of the Great Crusade) or 952 (53 years before Isstvan III). All that has done is narrow down the Lion's discovery to 843-848.M30. Magnus was the 9th, found in 840, Sanguinius was the 10th, found in 843 and Perturabo was 12th, found in 849. Based on the Primarch founding that BL produced, the Lion was the 11th Primarch found. So an early find for him breaks a lot of the fluff. Hell, part of their supra-level fluff is that for a Legion with high compliance and victory tallies, they are noted as being near the top of the list, despite them having a later Primarch than the others, because the Lion got shit done when he took over. ![]() ![]() Other info about when the Lion began commanding the Dark Angels (Rangdan, the Primarch discovery order and the known dates/implications) for some of those also place the Lion leading the DA later on. But I think the official timeline uses the earlier established dates (as do some later novels), so Fallen Angels original print run is wrong about a couple of dates. I don't know if they got changed when Laurie did his error-fixing for later print runs. >List of Titan Legions with Badges and ColoursĭA under the Lion - the actual Dark Angels, renamed and commanded by the Lion, not the 1st Legion, who were obviously up to stuff before then.Īt least in the first print version of Fallen Angels, there are a couple of very obvious dating errors that do not match up with dates and implications given in the earlier books, only out by a few years, but noticeable.
